Guyana Amazon Warriors 185 for 5 (Hetmyer 111*, Hosein 1-11) beat Trinbago Knight Riders 172 for 7 (Hales 55, Pooran 43, Nabi 3-20) by nine runs via DLS method
Shimron Hetmyer smashed an extraordinary 111 not out to propel Guyana Amazon Warriors to a nine-run victory over Trinbago Knight Riders in a rain-hit CPL 2026 contest in Port of Spain. After Amazon Warriors posted 185 for 5 from their 16 overs, TKR were set a revised target of 182 and they finished on 172 for 7. The victory kept Amazon Warriors unbeaten in the tournament, with four wins from as many games.
Amazon Warriors also jumped to second spot on the points table, behind Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, who are on nine points, but have lost four of their eight games, while TKR are fifth with five defeats in seven matches.

With the match reduced to 16 overs a side, Hetmyer turned the game into a one-man assault. Coming in with Amazon Warriors at 19 for 2, he struck eight fours and nine sixes, charging his way to a 27-ball fifty and a 40-ball hundred. He finished with a staggering strike rate of 258.13 after facing just 43 balls.
He received valuable late support from Romario Shepherd, who hammered 27 off seven balls, including two fours and three sixes. Their explosive stand helped Amazon Warriors add 94 runs in the final five overs, transforming a modest total into a daunting one.
TKR's chase got off to a flying start. Captain Nicholas Pooran smashed 43 from just 16 balls, with three fours and four sixes, while Alex Hales kept the chase going with a blistering 55 off 24. The pair briefly threatened to take the game away from Amazon Warriors, but Pooran fell at the start of the seventh over and three balls later Mohammad Nabi trapped Jyd Goolie lbw for a duck to leave them at 67 for 4. Imran Tahir then bagged his only wicket in the next over and TKR were reeling at 68 for 5.
The asking rate was well past 12 an over now and Akeal Hosein briefly gave Hales some support to take the score past 100, but he handed a return catch to Khary Pierre and Hales smoked a few sixes to bring the equation to 40 required from 12. But a 144.1kmh yorker from Shamar Joseph was too much for Hales and TKR's 30 runs off the last two overs meant they fell short.
Nabi was the key difference with the ball, claiming 3 for 20 from his three overs. The highlight of the chase, however, was Glenn Phillips completing a one-handed stunner after losing sight of the ball at deep midwicket, to send Sunil Narine back for 1.
