10.50pm: Time to hear from the captains, starting with Gaby Lewis: "We knew that it [118] was under par, we'd have liked closer to 150, that last over helped up but after the powerplay we were in it. Proud of the girls. Batting [needs looking at] losing wickets in the powerplay wasn't ideal and then we have to build a platform. We've got to focus on positives and keep building, with the ball, Aimee Maguire coming in. Playing against top nations, she's just going to get better. First game under lights, we're learning every day and looking forward to Friday."
And here is England's Nat Sciver-Brunt: "Really happy. Two very different looking games but we got over the line. Think the way the bowlers took the game on, took wickets throughout and stopped momentum. The surface was good, the outfield quick so we wanted to control the scoring. [Retired hurt] Just precautionary, felt a bit of tightness in my calf."
Okay, we'll wrap it up there. Valkerie Baynes' report is coming down the chute and we'll have more to come - doubtless with Nat Sciver-Brunt's fitness high up the agenda. Ireland's wait for a T20 World Cup wait goes on, but they'll have another crack against a faltering New Zealand later in the week, before another Home Nations clash for England as they take on Scotland. Bye!
10.40pm: Ah, now then, Sciver-Brunt has returned for the handshakes. She seems to be moving okay, so perhaps it was a false alarm. She comfortably top-scored for her side, with 48 off 38, as a steady stand with Heather Knight took England most of the way to their target after early wickets left them 35 for 3 in the powerplay
Player of the Match is Sophie Ecclestone: "So nice to get off to a winning start. It's not going too bad, hopefully go three from three on Saturday. Keep taking wickets, lucky to have a great attack. Very exciting, can't wait to keep it going." Short and sweet from Ecclestone
Charlie Dean is also speaking to Sky. "I guess I'm on standby but hopefully won't be needed," she says of Sciver-Brunt retiring hurt. "There was a bit in the pitch for bowlers. To get early breakthroughs is always key. To get Orla and Gaby out fairly early was brilliant. Used my variations a lot, enjoyed changing my shape and getting some turn. Always been attacking, but brings in risk of going for runs. I've been expensive and picked up wickets along the way. But to get dot balls in, and not leak boundaries is really important. Love bowling with Linsey and Eccles, and Tilly in the wings waiting to go. Eccles is exceptional, I love watching her bowl. [Allrounders] It's never fun when you lose wickets early. You're thinking oh gosh, but the calmness off Heather and Nat... knowing we have the firepower of Freya and Danni. Hopefully I don't have to bat too much."
England have issued an update on NSB, turns out she retired hurt: "England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt felt tightness in her calf and retired hurt as a precaution. She is currently being assessed by England medics"
