Anyway, this was a back of a length ball outside off, moving away late. Gaze nibbles at it and feathers it. The keeper snaps down low to her right and picks it up inches off the turf. Brilliant, brilliant catch, and Ayodhya is on the board in the first over itself! 4/1

    8.1 soft, soft dismissal, and Nimasha Meepage is into the wickets instantly! Slow and short outside off. Plimmer rocks back, trying to force it through the off side. Not enough pace to work with, though, and all she manages is a tame slice off the outside edge. Smart catch at short third, and SL have broken this promising partnership! 53/2

    12.3 catch it is the cry, and Kavindi makes immediate amends! Slowed up again, and bowled wider outside off, asking Kerr to fetch it. She is fighting against the angle from around the wicket, meaning she does not generate the requisite power. Arrows it towards deep mid wicket, where Kavindi tracks it all the way and then leaps to her right to gobble it up. Kavindi is pumped, as is Dilhari, and this is a big moment in the game! 96/3

    17.6 Devine looks to go big again, but perishes for the cause this time! Smart and brave bowling, it must be said. Loopier and perhaps wider outside off, which makes Devine fetch it. She is not able to do so fully and clinks it off the toe-end. Long on settles under it and makes no mistake. Kumari is overjoyed, and this could be a vital wicket at this stage for SL! 139/5

    14.6 massive caught-behind appeal, but the umpire responds with a wide call! SL review, quite promptly! Darted in on a length but this too sneaks down leg. Halliday seems to miss it. The keeper, of course, thinks otherwise, having instigated the review. And Nuthyangana might just have a case here. A spike as the ball is near the sticker of the bat, and SL have another wicket! 109/4

    18.3 oh, Izzy Sharp - what have you done?! Juicy full toss on the stumps and Sharp ought to have hit that into the stands. Instead, she swings too hard and loses her shape. The ball skews off the leading edge and the keeper, running to her left and into the short fine leg region, snaffles up the chance brilliantly. Nearly collided with her teammate but that did not deter her. Top work, and SL keep chipping away! 140/6

    6.5 goes straight up, and Plimmer holds on, somehow! Lobbed up on a fullish length on middle and leg. Gunaratne has a swipe at it and miscues it. Plimmer runs in from long on and the ball goes straight through the hands, only for Plimmer to then somehow latch onto the chance by lodging it between her knees. Not sure she will be able to pull it off again even if she tried, but NZ will not care one it. Stop the press, because NZ have actually held onto a chance! 47/2

    5.5 middle stump pegged back, and Athapaththu is outta here! Hard length on middle and off and this seems to nip in a shade. A bit of extra zip off the surface too and Athapaththu, staying leg side to carve it through the off side, is beaten for pace. Stumps rattled, and that could be a monumental moment in this contest! 45/1

    8.3 chopped on, and SL are imploding now! Thrown up on a length outside off, and Samarawickrama's eyes light up. She thinks she can maraud this through the off side but the ball holds just enough in the surface to induce a drag-on. Off the inside edge and into the back leg, before the ball dribbles into the stumps. SL in all sorts of bother now! 55/4

    7.6 there might be a run-out here, but has the keeper whipped off the bails with her gloves first?! Back of a length on the stumps. Perera dinks it into the vacant mid wicket region and calls for two. Kerr tears after it, picks it up and then in one motion, has a shy at the batter's end. Gaze's gloves are perilously close to the stumps but Kerr's direct hit sends Perera packing. What a turnaround for NZ! 53/3

Dilhari does too but then she indulges in ball-watching before retreating. Too late by then, and both batters end up running in the same direction. Run-out effected at the bowler's end, with Dilhari sacrificing her wicket, and this could be a game-changing moment! 105/5
