The venues of the two contests between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2026 have been swapped.
The first fixture was originally to be held as a 3.30pm game in Ahmedabad on April 26, while the second was scheduled as a 7.30pm match in Chennai on May 21. But the game on April 26 will now be held in Chennai, and start at 3.30pm, while the match on May 21 has been moved to Ahmedabad, and will begin at 7.30pm.
The IPL said in a release that the reason for the swap was the "municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat" on April 26.
While GT are currently fifth on the points table with two wins and losses each in four matches, CSK find themselves ninth after just one victory in as many games. So far, both teams have faced each other eight times in the IPL, and have an even 4-4 record. They had faced-off just once in IPL 2025, when CSK convincingly beat GT by 63 runs in Ahmedabad.
Both CSK and GT face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next fixture. While CSK host KKR on Tuesday, GT play them in Ahmedabad on April 17.
