Ireland seamer Ava Canning has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup due to a stress fracture of the back. She has been replaced by Jane Maguire in the Ireland squad.
Canning, 22, had taken 3 for 27 in four overs during Ireland's opening game of the tournament against Scotland in Manchester.
Maguire, also a seamer, has played 39 T20Is and has 33 wickets with an economy rate of 6.56. Her sister Aimee Maguire is also in Ireland's T20 World Cup squad.
After losing their opening game by 40 runs to Scotland, Ireland's next fixture is against New Zealand in Southampton on Friday. They are currently at the bottom of Group 2, which also includes England, West Indies and Sri Lanka.
