Toss Pakistan opt to bat first vs South Africa
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in their Women's T20 World Cup 2026 match in Birmingham. On a sunny evening that replaced a wet, and largely cloudy, day, both teams come in needing to get off the mark.
Pakistan lost their opening game to India on Sunday, while Australia beat South Africa on Saturday. Wednesday's game will be played on the same strip as the India vs Pakistan contest.
Pakistan made two changes to Sunday's team, with Iram Javed and Tuba Hassan replacing Saira Jabeen and Tasmia Rubab. There remains no place for experienced fast bowler Diana Baig, who has been unable to break into the side this tournament yet. South Africa stuck to the same side that played their opening match.
Pakistan are currently fifth in Group A on the points table, while South Africa are sixth. However, Pakistan have a slightly better net run rate of -0.3200 compared to South Africa's -3.250.
