Baylor-bound recruits Lauren Cox and Natalie Chou were among five finalists announced Wednesday for the 2016 McDonald's All American Games Morgan Wootten Player of the Year Award.
Cox, the No. 1 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100 from Flower Mound (Texas), and Chou, the No. 8 prospect from Plano West (Texas), both signed their national letters of intent to Baylor and coach Kim Mulkey in November.
They were joined on the list by fellow Texas high school star Joyner Holmes of Cedar Hill, who has signed to play with the Longhorns. UConn recruit Crystal Dangerfield and Notre Dame recruit Jackie Young also were named finalists.
Past winners of the award include Katie Lou Samuelson (2015), Ariel Atkins (2014), Breanna Stewart (2012), Maya Moore (2007), Tina Charles (2006) and Candace Parker (2004).
The 2016 winner will be announced March 9. The McDonald's All American Game is scheduled for March 30 at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
