It seems somewhat fitting that on the eve of the 2021 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament (fill out a bracket!) we celebrate the Gonzaga players in the NBA. After all, Gonzaga enters the tournament as the sport's unbeaten team and in perhaps the best position to earn its first national championship. Several Bulldogs figure to crash the NBA lottery this summer -- Jalen Suggs, Corey Kispert -- but before we get there let us focus on those currently aiding fantasy basketball teams.
Can you guess which former Gonzaga player, active or retired, boasts the highest scoring average in the NBA? Longtime Utah Jazz and Hall of Fame point guard John Stockton was my first guess, and he is the easy assist champion, but he averaged only 13.1 PPG in his legendary career. Indiana Pacers PF/C Domantas Sabonis continues his signature statistical season, one of six players averaging at least 20 PPG and 10 RPG, but no, his career scoring mark only matches Stockton. The answer is not Adam Morrison. Who else?
