England took a big step towards automatic qualfication for next year's World Cup after beating world champions Spain 1-0 at Wembley,
Lauren Hemp's early strike proved the difference as the Lionesses went top of their qualfication group on nine points. Only one team from each group secures direct passage to the World Cup finals.
It was a tight affair at Wembley and England did well to keep Spain at bay for a majority of the game. The world champions pushed hard for a way back and hit the woodwork twice in the second half, but England held firm.
Hannah Hampton made an incredible save towards the end to ensure the majority of the 62,306 fans in Wembley went home happy.
