World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler conceded a lengthy par putt in his Presidents Cup singles match Sunday against Nico Echavarria after a fan at Medinah Country Club yelled during the Colombian's swing earlier in the hole.
The fan yelled, "Go Scottie!" as Echavarria was swinging on the par-4 14th, causing him to push his tee shot 226 yards right. Scheffler intervened after it happened, telling the crowd, "There's no place for that," as Echavarria looked toward the fan.
A classy move from Scottie Scheffler.

Echavarria eventually hit his third shot over the hole and off the green. Scheffler, who got onto the green in regulation, missed a 19-foot birdie putt after conceding the 32-footer Echavarria faced.
As a result, both players walked off the 14th with a four.
Scheffler was 3 up at the time and went on to win, 2-and-1, helping the U.S. rally to win its 11th straight Presidents Cup.
Asked about what happened after the victory, he acknowledged the incident was "frustrating."
"There's just no place for that," he said.
"It was honestly a big distraction, I think for me, just because we compete and work so hard to put ourselves in these moments. When you have some fan who decides to insert himself into the tournament, you can say, I think, whatever you want to players, but I think there's an amount of respect there. You should get about 30 seconds when you're over the ball and hitting your shot or getting ready for your shot where fans are pretty silent. It just didn't really sit well with me. He would never hit a shot as poorly as he hit, I think, off the 14th if there wasn't a fan yelling in his swing."
Echavarria said he appreciated the gesture.
"It was a tough environment," he said. "Yeah, it's unfortunate that in some way the crowds can affect performance like that. But we have the No. 1 player in the world who's a class act. I wasn't expecting for him to give me that putt for par, and he did, and we tied the hole. It was just unfortunate, a couple things here and there."
