The skinny: Drive is across a valley to an uphill landing area on the slight dogleg right. Green is open at front, allowing a run-up approach to a two-level green.
Andy North's analysis: What makes the fifth hole so interesting is the extremely undulating green. It's one of the harder ones a professional golfer will ever have to play and probably the most difficult on the course. Even after a good drive, it will depend on the wind whether or not you can play a five- or a nine-iron. Because of the green, it's very difficult to get the ball close to the hole.
