PORTLAND, Ore. -- Los Angeles Lakers starting point guard Ronnie Price believes he suffered a broken nose Monday after receiving an elbow to the face from Portland forward Thomas Robinson in a 98-94 win over the Trail Blazers at the Moda Center.
Price hit the floor after trying to take a charge from Robinson late in the third quarter, bled profusely and was helped to the locker room. He received 11 stitches to close a gash on the bridge of his nose and didn't return to the game, finishing with 11 points and eight assists in 27 minutes.
"By the looks of things, I'm pretty sure it's broke," Price said.
He was scheduled to see an ear, nose and throat specialist Tuesday in Los Angeles.
"We'll see how it goes [Tuesday], but he'll probably have to wear a mask," Lakers coach Byron Scott said. "I think he'll be OK for Wednesday [against the Los Angeles Clippers]."
Price said he probably wouldn't wear a mask if it came to that.
If Price has a broken nose, he would be the second Laker to suffer that injury in less than a week. Lakers forward Ed Davis also suffered a broken nose Friday in a close loss to the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center.
