Lipscomb 75, Jackson State 62

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Eddie Ard scored a team high 20 points

for Lipscomb as they defeated Liberty 78-62 on Saturday.

The Bisons (4-3) held the lead early over Liberty in the first

half and started the second half with a 9-point lead.

The Flames (2-5) were behind by 16 points at 12:01 until Larry

Blair, the team's top scorer, had a run of scores with two 3-point

shots and one jumper.

But Lipscomb stayed well ahead for the rest of the half.

Liberty's last score came with 17 seconds left when Anthony Smith

shot a 2-point layup.

Lipscomb benefited from 25 free-throw points, 10 of which came

from Brian Fisk. Shaun Durant had 12 out of Lipscomb's 42 rebounds.

Blair led Liberty with 19 points. He was the only member of the

Flames to reach double figures.

The Bisons shot a season-high 50 percent from the field while

holding Liberty to 44.1 percent.
