EASTON, Pa. (AP) -- Andrei Capusan scored a career-high 21 points
and Jamaal Hilliard had a season-high 20 to lead Lafayette to an
85-74 victory over Colgate on Wednesday.
Andrew Brown and Matt Betley each added 10 points for Lafayette
(7-7, 1-1 Patriot League), which made 29-of-48 field goal attempts
(a season-high 60.4 percent) for the game.
Jon Simon had 19 points for Colgate (7-9, 1-1) while Kyle Roemer
contributed 16 points, Kendall Chones had 15 and Kyle Chones added
10.
Colgate erased a 16-8 Lafayette advantage and took the lead
twice in the first half. But a 17-4 Lafayette run -- with Capusan
scoring six of his 12 first-half points in three straight
possessions -- gave the Leopards a 38-28 lead with 1:39 left. They
led 41-31 at the half.
Lafayette, leading 57-50 with 11:42 remaining, then scored nine
straight points to put the game out of reach, and Colgate got no
closer than the final margin.
