Northern Arizona 65, Portland State 63

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Ruben Boykin hit the game-winning jumper

with 3.3 seconds left as Northern Arizona stayed unbeaten in Big

Sky Conference play with a 65-63 win over Portland State on

Thursday night.

Kelly Golob led Northern Arizona (16-6, 8-0 Big Sky) with 20

points. Tyrone Bazy added 13 points for the Lumberjacks, who

extended their winning streak to a Division I-best 10 games.

Juma Kamara paced Portland State (8-13, 1-7) with 17 points,

while Jake Schroeder had 12 points, all on 3-pointers.

With the score tied at 61-61 with less than 30 seconds to play,

Northern Arizona worked for the last shot and Josh Wilson found

Boykin open at the free throw line for the winning basket.

Trailing 33-32 at the start of the second half, the Lumberjacks

scored the first five points of the second half and took a 37-33

lead when Golob threw down a breakaway dunk with 17:20 left to

play.

The Lumberjacks, who shot 57 percent in the second half, led by

as many as seven points, but the Vikings fought back and Schroeder

tied the game at 54-54 with a 3-pointer with 5:08 left to play.

Washington scored inside to cap a 9-0 Portland State run that

gave the Vikings a 56-54 lead with 4:31 left to play. Golob

answered with five straight points to put Northern Arizona up 59-56

with 3:46 to play.

Kamara tied the game at 61-61 with a 3-pointer at 2:05 left in

the game. The teams traded free throws in the last minute to set up

the Boykins' final shot.

The teams combined for 43 turnovers.
