Houston 73, Tulsa 46

HOUSTON (AP) -- Ramon Dyer scored 20 points and Houston held

Tulsa to 29 percent shooting in a 73-46 victory Saturday night.

The Cougars (18-6, 8-3 Conference USA) raced to a 38-14 halftime

lead by holding the Golden Hurricane to 5-of-25 shooting in the

first half.

Dyer was 8-of-13 from the field and 4-of-8 from 3-point range.

Jahmar Thorpe had 14 points, and Chris Lawson added 12 off the

bench.

Houston's Brian Latham, who scored six points, had a career-high

10 assists and led all rebounders with nine.

Darold Crow scored 10 points to lead Tulsa (9-14, 4-6), which

was 15-of-52 from the field, including 4-of-21 from 3-point range.

Charles Ramsdell had nine points and eight rebounds.

Houston cruised despite an off-night from leading scorer Oliver

Lafayette. He had four points, 12 off his average, on 2-of-8

shooting. The team's leading 3-point shooter missed all five from

long range.
