Portland 90, San Diego 72

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Pooh Jeter had 23 points as Portland

concluded its regular season with a 90-72 win over San Diego on

Monday.

Darren Cooper and Alex Tiefenthaler added 15 points apiece for

the Pilots (11-17, 5-9 West Coast Conference), who trailed by two

at the half but erupted for 53 points after the break.

Nick Lewis had a game-high 25 points for San Diego (16-11, 6-8),

which faded late in the season with five losses in six games.

The Pilots shot 60 percent in the second half, and the final 12

minutes were arguably their finest stretch of the season. Cooper

and Tiefenthaler combined for 11 points in a 13-0 run that turned a

56-51 deficit into a 64-56 lead, and the Pilots poured it on from

there.

Portland has won three of four. The defeat was an overtime loss

to San Francisco on Saturday.
