Portland 76, Idaho St. 52

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- Sherrard Watson had 18 points and six rebounds Saturday to lead Portland to a 76-52 win over Idaho State in the Beaver Invitational at Gill Coliseum.

Nik Raivio added 15 points and Robin Smeulders 13 for Portland, which won its first game in the three-team round-robin tournament.

The Pilots (2-3) play host Oregon State on Sunday. Oregon State defeated Idaho State 61-56 on Friday.

Chron Tatum had 14 points for Idaho State (1-5). Portland used a 12-2 run to increase a 11-point halftime lead to 19 at 54-39 on a Luke Sikma 3-pointer with 13 minutes remaining in the game. Idaho State got no closer than 15 the rest of the way.

The final margin, 24 points, was Portland's largest advantage of the game.

Portland shot 24 of 54 from the field, including 9 of 23 from 3-point range. Idaho State was 19 of 56. Portland had a 45-26 rebounding advantage.
