GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Mike Schachtner scored 24 points to lead three Wisconsin-Green Bay players in double figures as the Phoenix downed North Dakota State 85-77 at the Resch Center on Saturday night.
Terry Evans and Rahmon Fletcher each added 15 points for the Phoenix (3-2), who won their ninth straight non-conference home game. Evans added eight rebounds, six assists and three steals, while Fletcher scored all 15 of his points in the second half.
The Bison (3-3) got a game-high 31 points from junior guard Ben Woodside, who finished 10-of-19 from the floor.
Brett Winkelman added 17 points and six rebounds and Madison, Wis. native and former Wisconsin Mr. Basketball Mike Nelson had 15 points and a game-high nine boards for the Bison.
After the Bison jumped out to a 28-17 lead midway through the first half the Phoenix rallied to tie the game at 34 with a 17-6 run over the final 7:13 heading into the locker room.
The Phoenix continued its roll with an 8-2 spurt to begin the second half. That burst gave Green Bay a lead it would never relinquish.
Green Bay scored 85 points and shot 35-of-69 (50.7 percent) from the field despite making just 1-of-10 3 pointers.
North Dakota had averaged nearly 104 points per game over a three-game winning streak headed into Saturday, but the Phoenix held the Bison to just 40.7 percent shooting.
