WORCESTER, Mass. -- Phil Beans scored 19 points and took down 8 rebounds to lead Holy Cross to a 57-54 victory against Maine in the Crusaders' home opener on Wednesday night.
Jordan Stevens contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Crusaders (3-1), members of the Patriot League. Dave Dudzinski added 10 points and 9 rebounds for Holy Cross, which leads the series 7-1.
Alasdair Frazier led the Black Bears (0-2) with 21 points and 15 rebounds, and Xavier Pollard chipped in with 14 points and 8 rebounds for Maine, members of the America East Conference.
