HONOLULU -- Jordan Baker had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead Pepperdine to a 63-56 victory against Hawaii on Saturday night.
Lorne Jackson and Caleb Willis added 11 points each for the Waves (6-3), who are off to their best start since 2004-05.
Christian Standhardinger had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Isaac Fotu 12 points for the Rainbow Warriors (4-3).
Baker's 3-pointer with 12:40 remaining gave Pepperdine a 41-38 lead and began giving the Waves breathing room. Willis scored seven straight points to increase the cushion to 48-40 with 8:28 to play.
Hawaii got no closer than five the rest of the way and hurt its cause by shooting just 50 percent (13 of 26) on free throws.
The Waves made a season-high 10 3-pointers.
Malte Kramer, making his season debut because of a knee injury, hit two shots from behind the arc late in the first half to help Pepperdine to a 31-23 lead at the break.
