DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Adrien Coleman posted 18 points, 15 boards, and dished out 10 assists for the first triple-double in school history as Bethune-Cookman defeated Webber International of the NAIA 85-72 Saturday.
Coleman leads the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in scoring (18.9) and ranks third in rebounding (7.6). The 6-foot-5 forward has reached double-digits in points for 13 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Alex Smith led Bethune Cookman with 24 points and 10 rebounds, both career-highs. Paul Scotland had 14 and Kevin Dukes and Marc Mack tallied 10 apiece for the Wildcats, who shot 41.7 percent (10 of 24) from deep in the win.
Bethune-Cookman led 39-36 at intermission but opened the second half with a 17-9 run to take a 56-45 lead and pull away.
The Wildcats won the rebounding battle 50-38 and forced 23 turnovers.
Brian Pace had 31 points for Webber International, which counted the game as an exhibition.
