WICHITA, Kan. -- Demetric Williams had 17 points and Wichita State scored the final 10 points of the game to defeat Southern Miss 59-51 Saturday night.
Nick Wiggins added 12 points for the Shockers (11-1), who overcame a 12-point second-half deficit, and Cleanthony Early had 10.
Jerrold Brooks led Southern Miss (8-4) with 18 points. Dwayne Davis added 13 and Neil Watson had 12.
After the Golden Eagles took a 51-49 lead on Watson's 3-pointer with 3:22 remaining, Wiggins scored on a layup and a dunk to give Wichita State the lead for good with 2:03 left. Four free throws and a layup by Williams finished the scoring for the Shockers.
Wichita State is 11-1 for the first time since the 2009-10 season when it also won 11 of its first 12 games.
