AMHERST, Mass. -- Freddie Riley came off the bench in the first half to make five 3-pointers in a span of 3:41 to spark Massachusetts to its seventh consecutive win, 75-61 over Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
The first of Riley's 3-pointers gave the Minutemen (10-3) a 13-12 lead, and they led by 10 points, 25-15, after the last of them, with 7:58 until halftime.
Riley added another trey in the second half and moved into sixth place on Massachusetts' career list for 3-pointers made with 179. The senior guard was scoring just 4.4 points per game this season but has averaged 12.3 over the last four games.
Chaz Williams, who came in averaging 7.3 assists, handed out nine for the Minutemen and added 14 points. Maxie Esho contributed 13 points and nine rebounds.
J.R. Sims scored 12 points and Glenn Bryant had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles (7-7).
