NEW YORK -- Daniel Stewart scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds to lead Rider to a 69-60 victory over Manhattan in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Thursday night.
The junior forward's three-point play and layup gave the Broncs (8-9, 3-2) a 59-53 lead with 3:42 left after the Jaspers (4-11, 2-3) had cut a 10-point second-half deficit to 54-53.
Anthony Myles added 13 points and 14 rebounds for Rider, which shot 52 percent (13 of 25) in the second half.
The Broncs outscored Manhattan 18-7 over the final 8 1/2 minutes of the first half to take a 28-20 lead at the break. Stewart had 13 points and 11 rebounds by halftime.
Shane Richards scored 18 points to lead the Jaspers, making 6 of 13 shots from 3-point range. Rhamel Brown had 15 points and 11 rebounds and C.J. Jones scored 11 points.
