GREELEY, Colo. -- Kareem Jamar scored 26 points on 9-of-10 shooting including four 3-pointers and Montana defeated Big Sky foe Northern Colorado 85-77 on Saturday night.
Montana (10-5, 6-0 Big Sky) needed 12 3-pointers to get past the Bears, which led 17-5 only 5 minutes into the game. The Grizzlies were down by 15 at one point but rallied with a 30-12 run to close out the first half capped by Will Cherry's three-point play with 1 second remaining.
Cherry ended the game with 21 points, six assists and five rebounds for the Grizzlies.
The two teams were tied at 65 with just over 8 minutes to play but Jamar's 3-pointer with 7:06 to play gave Montana a 68-65 lead and the Grizzlies never trailed again.
Derrick Barden had 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead Northern Colorado (3-11, 1-5). Tevin Svihovec and Tate Unruh had 19 apiece.
