WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Keith Rendleman and Chris Dixon scored 14 points each as UNC Wilmington defeated Old Dominion 65-60 Wednesday night in a Colonial Athletic Association game that had 10 lead changes and eight ties.
The Seahawks (7-10, 2-3), who trailed 35-28 early in the second half, went ahead to stay, 50-49, on a free throw by Rendleman with 5:25 remaining. Baskets by Cedric Williams and Rendleman then made it 54-49.
Rendleman also had 13 rebounds for UNC Wilmington for his 31st career double-double. Craig Ponder had 13 points for the Seahawks.
DeShawn Painter scored 18 points to pace the Monarchs (2-15, 0-5), including a jumper with 43 seconds left in the first half that gave them a 31-28 lead at intermission. Richard Ross scored nine in the first half for Old Dominion and finished with 11.
The Monarchs, who have lost five straight, had beaten the Seahawks in their last six meetings.
