BALTIMORE -- Dylon Cormier made 7 of 8 shots from the field and finished with a game-high 19 points and six assists to lead Loyola (Md.) past Marist 72-58 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup Thursday night.
Erick Etherly scored 14 points, Julius Brooks had 12 and Anthony Winbush chipped in 10 for Loyola (13-6, 5-2), which won its fourth straight home game.
Trailing 43-31 at halftime, Marist cut the lead to single digits, 52-43, on Anell Alexis' layup with 13:01 left to play, but that was the closest the Red Foxes would get. Loyola answered with a 15-8 run to extend its lead to 67-51 with 5:22 remaining.
The Greyhounds shot 60.4 percent (29 of 48) and led by as many as 17 points.
Alex and Adam Kemp scored 14 points apiece for Marist (4-14, 1-6), which has lost eight straight.
