LYNCHBURG, Va. -- John Caleb Sanders scored 20 points to lead Liberty to a 74-47 rout of Longwood in a Big South Conference game Tuesday night.
Sanders scored 14 points in the second half, when the Flames (6-14, 2-4) pulled away after leading 33-27 at halftime.
Liberty made 60 percent of its shots (15 of 25) in the second half to Longwood's 29.2 percent (7 of 24).
Casey Roberts came off the bench for Liberty to score nine of his 12 points in the first half, including a pair of 3-pointers, and Tavares Speaks finished with 10 points.
Longwood (3-17, 0-6) remained winless in conference games in its first season in the Big South, and the Lancers now have lost 10 in a row.
Karl Ziegler scored 12 points to lead Longwood, making all eight of his free throws, and Tristan Carey added 10 points.
