LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Jordan Heath posted his first double-double of the season and Canisius dominated the second half to defeat Rider 67-50 Friday night, snapping the Broncs' five-game winning streak.
Heath tied his career high with 17 points and grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds for the Golden Griffins (13-7, 6-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who have won three straight. Billy Baron also scored 17 points, with Isaac Sosa adding 12 and Chris Manhertz 10.
The first half featured seven lead changes, with Canisius ahead 27-24 at the break. After the Golden Griffins opened the second half on a 13-4 run, they went on to outshoot the Broncs from the field after intermission, 61.5 percent (16 of 26) to 32 percent (8 of 25).
Canisius, which came in ranked second in the MAAC and fifth nationally in 3-pointers (9.2 average) was 9-of-24 shooting from long range,
Tommy Pereira's 11 points led Rider (11-10, 6-3).
