RADFORD, Va. -- Stan Okoye recorded a double-double, 23 points and 15 rebounds, including the final sixteen points for Virginia Military Institute as it beat Radford 70-69 Wednesday night in a Big South Conference showdown.
Rodney Glasgow scored 15 points to help VMI (10-10, 5-3) snap a three-game losing streak.
After Okoye's free throw cut VMI's deficit to 66-62, Jalen Carethers made two free throws to push Radford's lead to 68-62 with 51 seconds left.
Okoye made a jumper to make it 68-64 with 44 seconds left. After a Radford free throw made it 69-64, Okoye responded with a jumper to cut the deficit to 69-66 with 34 seconds remaining.
Okoye closed the game with a layup with 19 seconds left to bring VMI within one, 69-68, and then converted a tip-in with four seconds left to give VMI the lead and the victory.
R.J. Price scored 26 points for Radford (10-12, 4-4).
