BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Maurice Barrow came off the bench to score a career-high 25 points and grab 10 rebounds as Fairfield defeated Rider 69-59 Friday night for a sweep of their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference season series.
The junior forward earned his second double-double this season for the Stags (13-10, 5-6) and both have come against the Broncs. He had 13 points and 10 rebounds in Fairfield's 65-62 win at Rider on Dec. 9.
Rider (11-12, 6-5) rallied from a 35-30 halftime deficit for a 44-44 tie with 10:59 left before a 14-4 run, including 10 points by Barrow, put the Stags ahead 58-48 with 5:28 remaining.
Fairfield, which won its third straight, was sharp at the free-throw line, making 22 of 25. Barrow made 9 of 9 and Derek Needham, who finished with 15 points, made 6 of 6.
Daniel Stewart scored 22 points to lead Rider, which lost its third straight.
