EL PASO, Texas -- Mckenzie Moore scored 14 points and UTEP clamped down on Tulane's top two scorers in a 62-50 victory Saturday night.
Julian Washburn added 12 points and Konner Tucker had 11 for the Miners (12-8, 5-2 Conference USA), who swept the season series from Tulane. Jacques Streeter had nine assists.
Jordan Callahan led the Green Wave (14-8, 2-5) with nine points. Josh Davis, who came into the game as the leading scorer (17.5 points per game) and rebounder (10.2) in Conference USA, was limited to eight points and two rebounds. Ricky Tarrant, who had been averaging 15.4 points per game, scored just two.
UTEP got 3-pointers from Moore and Jalen Ragland to close the first half on an 8-2 run and a 34-19 lead at the break. The Miners then scored the first six points of the second half to extend the lead to 21 points.
