WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Craig Ponder scored 17 points and Keith Rendleman notched his 13th double-double as UNC Wilmington snapped a three-game losing streak with a 76-72 win over Georgia State Wednesday night in Colonial Athletic Association action.
Ponder knocked down three 3-pointers while Rendleman scored 15 points with 10 boards for the Seahawks (9-14, 4-7), who knocked down 52.9 percent (27 of 51) from the field and 9-of-18 shooting from 3-point range.
Georgia State (12-13, 7-5) freshman R.J. Hunter, fresh off a season-high 38 points and a CAA-record-tying 10 3-pointers against Old Dominion, scored 26 points on 6-of-7 3-point shooting Wednesday.
UNC Wilmington avenged an 18-point loss to Georgia State on Jan. 23.
Cedrick Williams added 14 points and six boards off the bench for the Seahawks, while Chris Dixon scored 12 points and Freddie Jackson 10.
UNC Wilmington led 68-58 with 6:10 left and held off a late Panthers' charge.
