PITTSBURGH -- Nikola Malesevic scored 19 points and Rhode Island won its second straight since snapping a six-game skid, beating Duquesne 67-62 Saturday night.
The Rams (8-16, 3-8 Atlantic 10 Conference) avenged a 78-71 loss to the Dukes on Jan. 14. Malasevic was 8-of-13 shooting and 3 of 5 from 3-point range, and also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Xavier Munford added 14 points and six assists.
Duquesne (8-17, 1-10), which had just snapped an 11-game losing streak Thursday against Temple, got 20 points and seven assists from Derrick Colter.
The Dukes jumped to an 11-4 lead, but a 13-4 Rhode Island run put the Rams up 26-23, and they led 33-28 at halftime.
Duquesne took back the lead 44-43 on Andre Marhold's layup with 11:37 left. The lead changed hands three more times, the last on Mike Powell's free throw make for the Rams with 1:22 left for a 59-58 lead.
