BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Javon McCrea had 26 points as Buffalo snapped the nation's longest winning streak, beating Akron 81-67 Saturday night in Mid-American Conference action.
The Zips (23-5, 13-1) had won 19 straight, two shy of the program record set in 1958-59.
Buffalo (12-17, 7-7) snapped a two-game losing streak with the win. The Bulls led 37-32 at halftime, and after falling behind 44-43 with 15:01 left, used a 17-6 stretch to build a 60-50 lead with 7:06 remaining.
Buffalo is now tied for third with Kent State in the MAC East standings.
McCrea hit 13 of 18 and added six rebounds. Jarryn Skeete had 18 points, Will Regan 16 and Tony Watson 13 for the Bulls.
Buffalo entered shooting 51 percent over its previous four games and hit 56 percent (28 of 50) Saturday, including 60 percent (15 of 25) after halftime.
Zeke Marshall led Akron with 17 points.
