Portland State beats Evergreen State 98-65
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Aaron Moore led Portland State with 21 points and seven rebounds in a 98-65 victory over NAIA Evergreen State on Monday.
Portland State (5-4) used a 21-3 run in the second half to put the game comfortably out of reach at 87-56 with 3:43 to play. The victory ends Portland State's three-game losing streak and allows the Vikings to take a winning record into Big Sky conference play.
The Vikings outrebounded the Geoducks 50-24. Tim Douglas had 16 points while Andre Winston Jr. and Marcus Hall each scored 13 for the Vikings.
Evergreen State was 11 of 25 from 3-point range. The Geoducks opened the second half on a 14-5 run to close within 52-45, but they made just three of their next 16 shots from the field as the game slipped away.
Kyle Calhoun had 15 points and Frankie Johnson had eight assists to lead Evergreen.
