Northern Arizona tops Sacramento State 75-65
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Aaseem Dixon scored 22 points and Northern Arizona pulled away from Sacramento State in the second half for a 75-65 win on Thursday night.
After a tight first half, Northern Arizona (5-9, 2-1 Big Sky Conference) used a 14-3 run during the second half to open a double-digit advantage in a game that featured 17 lead changes. The Lumberjacks went up by double digits for the first time on a Quinton Upshur 3-pointer with 8:34 remaining.
Sacramento State (4-8, 0-3) cut the lead to 69-63 with 1:24 left, but Northern Arizona went 6 for 6 from the free throw line in the final minute to preserve the win.
Upshur scored 18 points, and hit all five of his 3-point attempts. Max Jacobsen added 17 points for Northern Arizona.
Mikh McKinney scored 15 points for Sacramento State and Dylan Garrity had 12.
