Portland State beats Sacramento State 68-64 in OT
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Andre Winston scored only six points but he had Portland State's last four on free throws as the Vikings ended a 20-game road losing streak with a 68-64 overtime victory over Sacramento State on Thursday night.
Dylan Garrity's basket got the Hornets (5-9, 1-4 Big Sky) within three with 10 seconds left before Winston was fouled with 4 seconds remaining.
The game ended on a missed 3-pointer by the Hornets, indicative of their long-range futility. The Hornets missed all 14 3-point attempts, bringing to an end a stretch of 561 consecutive games covering over 20 years with at least one 3-pointer.
