GREELEY, Colo. -- Tate Unruh drilled three 3-pointers during a 14-2 first-half run that sparked Northern Colorado to a comfortable, 87-72 win over Northern Arizona Thursday night.
The Bears are unbeaten at home (10-0), and stayed that way by shooting a blistering 59.3 percent from the field, hitting 11 of 16 shots from long range.
Unruh was 5 of 7 from the field, all from behind the 3-point line, finishing with 20 points to lead Northern Colorado (12-4, 6-1 Big Sky). Tim Huskisson was 6 of 12 from the floor, 3 of 5 from behind the arc, to total 19 points. Derrick Barden added 14 points and Tevin Svihovec contributed another 11 off the bench.
Quinton Upshur scored 32 points on 11-of-13 shooting, hitting 7 of 8 from behind the arc, to lead Northern Arizona (8-10, 5-2). Kris Yanku added 20 points off the Lumberjacks bench.
