Ingram lifts NC Central past Campbell 62-43
BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Jeremy Ingram scored 17 of his 29 points in the second half, when North Carolina Central out-scored Campbell 32-9, to coast to a 62-43 win on Monday in the Global Sports Shootout.
The Eagles (2-1) opened the second half with a 17-3 run to turn a 34-30 deficit into a 47-37 lead. Ingram scored 13 points to fuel that game-changing run.
Campbell (2-2) made just 2 of 19 shots, including 1 of 9 from 3-point range in the second half. The Camels also had 15 turnovers and got destroyed at the foul line. N.C. Central made 16 of 22 free throws to just 5 of 8 for the home team.
Ingram struggled in the first half, making just 4 of 12 shots, but he heated up in the second, making 5 of 8. Teammate Emanuel Chapman had 11 rebounds to help the Eagles to a 38-27 advantage.
