North Carolina A&T defeats Longwood 85-78
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- Lamont Middleton scored a career best 33 points as North Carolina A&T ended a four-game losing streak by defeating Longwood 85-78 on Friday .
Middleton hit five 3-pointers, also a career high, and went 16-20 from the line in the Barclay's Center Classic. Richaud Pack added 22 points for the Aggies (2-4) and Jeremy Underwood 11. North Carolina A&T went to the free-throw line 49 times, hitting 38, on 30 Longwood fouls.
The Lancers placed four in double figures, led by Tristan Carey's 20, Lucas Woodhouse with a season-high 19, Karl Zeigler with a season-high 17 and Darrion Allen with 10.
Middleton hit a pair of free throws at the end of a tightly contested first half (six ties, seven lead changes) to tie at 35. Middleton scored 11 of his 17 second-half points in a 36-18 run that had the Aggies leading by as many as 18.
