Northeastern gets by Central Connecticut St. 83-69

BOSTON -- Demetrius Pollard tied a school record with eight 3-pointers and finished with 27 points in an 83-69 Northeastern win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
Zach Stahl scored 15 points, and David Walker added 14 for Northeastern (1-2). The Huskies led 39-34 at the half, but Pollard hit back-to-back 3-pointers to open up the second have and his two free throws extended their lead to 47-34.
Khalen Cumberlander led CCSU (0-3) with 20 points and Terrell Allen added 11. The Blue Devils attempted just 10 free throws, while Northeastern made 17 of 26.
The game was the 12th all-time meeting between the two New England foes. The homecoming was Northeastern's first game as host in the old Cabot Center since Dec. 18, 2006.
