Sacred Heart takes down Hofstra 73-59
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Steve Glowiak scored 18 points on six 3-pointers, leading a hot-shooting Sacred Heart offense past Hofstra 73-59 on Wednesday night.
Sacred Heart (2-6) snapped a two-game losing skid, hitting 12 of 24 3-pointers and shooting 50 percent (27 of 54) from the field. The Pioneers hit 8 of 15 attempts from behind the arc in the first half on their way to a 42-31 halftime lead.
Hofstra (2-6) shot 46.9 percent from the field and came within 62-57 on Zeke Upshaw's bucket with 5:41 left in the second half before Glowiak responded with his sixth 3 of the game, sparking an 11-2 run to finish the game.
Evan Kelley scored 14 points for Sacred Heart and Chris Evans added 13. Phil Gaetano had eight points and paced the offense with a season-high 11 assists.
Upshaw scored 16 points for Hofstra, Jamall Robinson added 14 and Jordan Allen had 10.
