TEANECK, N.J. -- Malachi Nix sank two free throws with 4 seconds left to lift Fairleigh Dickinson over St. Francis (NY) 86-85 on Thursday.
The game was tied at 73, but a layup and dunk by Jalen Cannon put St. Francis (12-8, 3-2 Northeast) up six with 1:23 remaining.
Mustafaa Jones buried a trey for FDU, then Sidney Sanders' layup cut the lead to one with 47 seconds left. Sanders missed a layup on the next possession, but St. Francis' Sheldon Hagigal missed a pair of free throws and fouled Nix to set up the deciding free throws.
Nix finished with four points, all from the line.
Sanders led Fairleigh Dickinson (7-12, 3-2 Northeast) with 20 points. Seilund and Jones both had 13 while Scooter Gillette and Kyle Pearson scored 12 apiece.
Cannon scored 23 points and gathered 11 rebounds for St. Francis (NY). Hagigal had 18 points while Ben Mockford added 16.
