Robert Morris edges Mount St. Mary's 69-61
MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Charles Oliver scored a career-high 19 points, sinking all three of his shots from 3-point range, to lift Robert Morris University to a 69-61 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
Robert Morris (16-11, 11-1 Northeast Conference) took the lead midway through the first period on an Oliver 3-pointer that made it 14-13 with 11:57 left in the half and wouldn't trail again the rest of the game.
Anthony Myers-Pate contributed 11 points and Stephan Hawkins added 10 for the Colonials, who held a 40-28 rebounding advantage in their fourth straight win and remain atop the NEC. Lucky Jones had eight points and nine rebounds.
Mount St. Mary's (10-14, 6-5) closed to within three points midway through the second half with a Julian Norfleet 3-pointer, but RMU responded with a 10-2 run to keep control.
Rashad Whack led the Mountaineers with 27 points.
