Lafayette rolls past Holy Cross 76-64
WORCESTER, Mass. -- Nick Lindner scored 17 points with six assists as Lafayette won its fifth in six games, rolling past Holy Cross 76-64 on Wednesday.
Seth Hinrichs added 21 points for the Leopards (9-17, 5-10 Patriot). Joey Ptasinski had 16 points and Dan Trist added 10.
Lafayette led early in the first half and went into the break with a 39-34 advantage. The Leopards widened the gap to start the second with a 15-8 run -- helmed by Lindner hitting from inside the paint and from beyond the arc -- to lead 54-42 with 11:19 to play. Crusaders Anthony Thompson and Justin Burrell sank back-to-back 3-pointers late, sparking a 14-4 run that brought Holy Cross back to within eight with just under a minute to play.
The Crusaders (16-11, 10-5) lead scorer was Dave Dudzinski with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The loss breaks a four-game winning streak for Holy Cross.
