Rider pulls away from St. Peter's in 71-53 win
JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Anthony Myles scored 19 points, hitting 5 of 6 from 3-point range, to lead Rider to a 71-53 win over St. Peter's on Friday night.
Shawn Valentine contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, Jimmie Taylor added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Daniel Stewart had nine points and nine rebounds for Rider (11-9, 7-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Association), which hit 27 of 58 from the field and held a 40-23 rebounding advantage.
The Broncs took control early, carrying a 37-29 advantage into the break, then used a 14-0 run that included a pair of 3-pointers from Tommy Pereira late in the second half to cement the win.
St. Peter's (7-13, 3-8) tied it up at 9 on a 3-pointer by Howard Sellars early in the first half but never took the lead.
Desi Washington led the Peacocks with 15 points, while Marvin Dominique and Trevis Wyche scored 12 each.
