Quinnipiac routs Rider 82-61
HAMDEN, Conn. -- Ike Azotam scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Quinnipiac routed Rider 82-61 on Saturday.
Quinnipiac (14-8, 9-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) scored 10 straight points to close the first half and build a 34-27 halftime lead. The Bobcats then went on a 16-2 run early in the second half to extend their lead to 52-34 with 15:20 to play, scoring 18 points in the first 4:40 of the half.
Zaid Hearst added 13 points, Shaq Shannon and Umar Shannon had 12 points apiece and Evan Conti had 10 for Quinnipiac, which shot 9 of 16 from 3-point range.
The Bobcats, who entered the game as the nation's top rebounding team, held a 44-30 advantage on the boards.
Daniel Stewart led Rider (12-11, 8-6) with 15 points.
