Texas A&M-CC rallies past SE Louisiana 74-71
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- John Jordan had 14 points with nine assists, while Zane Knowles added 11 points and 11 rebounds and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi came back to defeat Southeastern Louisiana 74-71 Thursday night.
Having trailed by 12 early in the second half, Texas A&M-CC (9-11, 6-1 Southland Conference) stormed into the lead as Jake Kocher had a 3-pointer and a layup and Jordan hit two free throws in between to spark a 17-3 surge and lead 60-55 at the midway mark.
Rashawn Thomas sank two free throws to put the Islanders up by four, but JaMichael Hawkins answered with a layup.
Knowles and Jordan each hit a late free throw for the final margin, and Hawkins couldn't connect on a 3-pointer in the final seconds.
Texas A&M-CC had a 39-23 advantage in rebounding. Kocher finished with 15 points.
Antonnio Benton led the Lions (8-10, 3-4) with 19 points and 14 boards.
